A geodata engineer, to support the growth of our flagship product, Belmap.
Belmap is a digital product that encompasses all Belgian addresses and buildings with a multitude of linked data properties and gives an elaborate description of characteristics and activities at any given location. Through Belmap, retailers can for instance understand where their customers live, work and shop. Utility network operators can optimize their network planning, design, roll-out and operations and distribution companies can optimize their address management and logistics. Belmap thus enables better decision-making based on clear location insights. The objective is to evolve the product into a complete and highly detailed digital twin of the build-up territory.

As geodata engineer...
I am a versatile professional with a passion for data and technology. Data is my playground — I love exploring, structuring, and optimizing it to create value. I contribute to the growth of Belmap by designing, building, and maintaining reliable data pipelines and integration processes that transform complex spatial data into useful information products.
My expertise in ETL tools -such as FME or Apache ETL stack - allows me to automate and streamline data workflows. But I go further — my solid knowledge of Python, SQL, and relational databases helps me develop advanced data processing scripts, improve queries, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
I am curious about data science and AI, and I enjoy working at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning. I understand that 90% of data science success lies in well-structured, reliable data pipelines, and I take pride in enabling that foundation.
In my daily work, I combine pragmatism and creativity to find effective solutions. Whether it’s data modeling, ETL design, or cloud infrastructure configuration, I enjoy tackling diverse challenges and delivering results that matter.
I also contribute to DevOps practices — I am familiar with GitHub for versioning and CI/CD, understand Docker or similar container technologies, and able to configure environments in the cloud. My goal is to make our data ecosystem more reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
Collaboration is key: I work closely with architects, data scientists, developers, and GIS experts within the Belmap team. I not only excel in my own engineering skills, but also able to guide other team members, offering mentorship and technical support where needed. I actively participate in team meetings and feedback sessions, proposing initiatives that enhance collaboration and elevate our processes.
