As Data Engineer/Architect...
I am a versatile professional with a passion for data and technology. Data is my playground. That is why I enjoy exploring, structuring, and optimizing it to create value. I contribute to the growth of software products such as Belmap by designing, building, and maintaining reliable data flows and integration processes that transform complex spatial data into useful information products.
My expertise in ETL tools, such as FME or the Apache ETL stack, enables me to automate and streamline data workflows. But I go beyond that. My in-depth knowledge of Python, SQL, and relational databases helps me develop advanced data-processing scripts, optimize queries, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
I am curious about data science and AI, and I enjoy working at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning. I understand that 90% of success in data science lies in well-structured and reliable data flows, and I take pride in building that foundation.
In my day-to-day work, I combine pragmatism and creativity to find effective solutions. Whether it is data modeling, ETL design, or cloud infrastructure configuration, I enjoy tackling diverse challenges and delivering results that matter.
I also contribute to DevOps practices. I am familiar with GitHub for version control and CI/CD, understand Docker or similar container technologies, and can configure cloud environments. My goal is to make our data ecosystem more reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
Collaboration is essential: I work closely with architects, data scientists, developers, and GIS experts within the Belmap team. I not only excel in my own engineering skills, but I can also support other team members by providing mentorship and technical guidance where needed. I actively participate in team meetings and feedback sessions and propose initiatives that improve collaboration and elevate our processes.
